Please will someone tell me why people go on buying plants from this company. Doesn't anybody read the reviews on here and evaluate whether the risk is greater than the benefit? Yes, some people say they are reliable. Many, many more say they're not.
I think it's because their special offer prices are so seductive! I have the same experience as Lyn. I only buy things that are on special offer and do expect them to need some TLC. Last year I bought 6 x Gallardia, 3 x Cornus Alba Sibirica, 1 buddleia Santana all for less than £12 including postage and got 6 named pinks as a free offer. They were all small and needed potting on a couple of times before planting out but all survived and are now decent size plants.
I wouldn't buy the full price plants though as you can definitely get them cheaper and larger elsewhere.
I should have read these reviews before ordering plants!
My order (Rhubarb, Heuchera, Campanula, Daphne, Dicentra) and was really disappointing: tiny plants, lot of rotted leaves, poorly packed, mould on the rhizomes.
Really runnybeak? I'm so diapointed we were planning to go down there this summer - is it too commercial or what?
As for plants, you can't beat my local garden centre in Newhaven at the moment, they are doing 6 plants for £10 and they are all quite big plants. I've bought 6 lobelia, 6 aquilegias, 6 foxgloves, all kinds of plants which individually usually cost 2-3 pounds and they are all doing really well, lovely and healthy.

I don't think Parkers do try to specialise in everything, I bought a tray of primroses from then once and they came direct from Jersey Plants.
I wonder if they don't just buy in trees and plants from other specialist growers.

I like to see a bulb or plant before I buy them!
