Ordered loads of these 'mighty plugs' perennials last year they arrived spring time some had little bits of growth most others just fell apart brown dead roots when I picked them up, I phoned and complained was told I have to wait til end of growing season August time even though more than 40 were obviously dead did not get a refund. so I just went and got established plants for the spaces but some came up good a tiny like 3cm black knight hollyhock grew to a mighty 8ft beast, my achilleas and corespsis came up good, I recently bought hundreds of spring bulbs from jp most were good shrubs seem good just puny little things though. Last year I got a tri colour standard rose for centre of lawn but turned out the yellow plant was dead I didn't realise til October time was gutted red and pink came out though after One email they refunded me pretty quickly, you get what you pay for it seems I've found Jacksons nurseries they seem cheap for good sized plants gonna try them. Will sticks with jparkers for bulbs they very cheap and most seem alright

I have used J Parker ltd a number of times over the years, my perception is that they are not the company they used to be. I have had two poor experiences with them, the last in Aug 2015. I recently emailed them to alert them to a possible problem with my plants, to be told rather curtly that it was all my fault and not their responsibility. I have years of experience growing the same plants with no problems, so replied to the lady with a copy to the Sales Director, they haven't bothered to reply so I will no longer be buying from them.

Ordered snowdrops in the green from Cambo, well recommended and I know the garden. Was therefore hugely disappointed to get a confirmation of order email with no content! What's that all about? Telephoned the shop to confirm payment and order gone through to be told " yes, that was your confirmation" when I expressed the opinion that a thank you for your order would have been good practice I got a very snooty response

not impressed, snowdrops better be impressive!

I agree with Verdun - and the company name says it all - good for bulbs, rubbish for plants.

My garden is full of J.Parkers plants, I started of with the little plugs, then took cuttings. The sale stuff is excellent even though you do have to wait a year or two for them to grow on and flower, but in the four years I have been gardening here, you would think those originally tiny plants had been in forever. At those prices I don't mind if I lose a few. all my shrubs were either 1.99 or 2.49.

i did get let down with my bulb order this year, not really the fault of Parkers, but because the courier couldn't find me!

They have always answered my emails, usually the same day, the girls are very helpful.

I am looking at just three if Parkers plants, a Strawberry Deutziea, an Acer and two Amelanchier, all 4 to 5 feet tall, they have been in the ground for four years this Autumn, the Deutziea was covered in flowers on its second year, they all cost 1.99 each.

the reason they die on most people is that Parkers put instructions inside to plant them straight out in the garden, well, you can't they need TLC for the first winter, you know I have only been at this garden for 4 years, and you know the amount of colour that's here, I can't imagine how many chunks of plants I have split and posted to people here, anyway enough said, we will never agree on bringing on our own plants against buying them ready grown.
