Loads of bees here - on Sedums, Buddleias, wild rocket, Clematis and various other bits and pieces. Not seen as many hoverflies as usual, but perhaps I have fewer plants for them. Or maybe I've just not been in the garden so much this year.
S*d all butterflies though. Been a bad year for them - too cold and wet. I've seen very few, even on the buddleias
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Those with bees on Cosmos, do you know what variety? The ones I put down were grown from seed, and have either deep pink or white flowers, but not much bee interest. They're low (about 40cm) and fairly 'shrubby'. At my parents they have a larger variety with pale purple, bit more floppy, larger flowers, just wondering if that's what people on here have.
Saw quite a few butterflies on Saturday when I was out the front, lovely sunny day and they kept coming to land on the windows I'm guessing to catch the sun a bit. They looked like Peacock/Red Admiral but I've not got my Osborne book to hand.

Seen on cosmos, sedum and they're starting to take an interest in the ivy
I have loads, mainly on the ivy flowers, they just love them.
A large patch of ivy in flower has bees, wasps, hoverflies, assorted other flies and a few butterflies
I hate the smell of ivy in flower so just admire the life and move away

It will be the lacedwings next pansyface
After that I expect the mice/voles/shrews will want to scrabble around chewing the polystyrene part of the roof insulation. They are so noisy

Lots of honey and different sorts of bumble bees both in the garden and allotment though few butterflies except the white sort, worse luck!
There are two bee keepers on the allotment, both have had a marvellous season with lots of bees and also honey, they have said!
Still have a few bees as I have cosmos in flower and also dahlias. The wasps seem to like my chinese holly though it has no flowers.
