Jeyes fluid can be harmful to all living creatures. I would never put it on my garden.

It will kill all the soil organisms as well as possibly the cat. Get a water scarecrow instead

This is a problem which doesn’t have a fail safe solution. The best deterrents I have found are:
1.netting fixed at a low height over new young plants.
    2.daily removal of poo
3.dense planting so soil is not visible
And try to cultivate a mental attitude that all creatures are entitled to live, eat and therefore poo!

They are entitled live eat and poo in their owners garden, not mine.

Hoping this doesn't descend into another slanging match about cats. My advice to you @lucybarnes1611 is pretty much the same as @Ruthmshaw . The best thing you can do is plant very densely, l find that's the best thing. If you want to prepare the soil before planting and leave it for a day or two for any reason, just keep the area covered using bits of cardboard or something similar  :)
