Logan, was she advised by her doctor not to do Strictly at all, or not to do the dance off on Saturday/Sunday?

I'd be surprised if the BBC took her on the programme knowing that she was going against medical advice image

Logan image So the BBC couldn't have let her do the dance off even if she'd wanted to  ... a very difficult position for everyone.  Such a shame ...  image

Does anyone know which dance she's doing next?  I mean, if it's the Viennese Waltz for instance, she shouldn't need to do any extravagant arm movements and she could let the injury settle a bit.  It depends on whether it's a really bad tear or a less serious one which might have understandably really frightened her.

  • Just googled  Anastasia and Strictly,  and it seems she refused to dance again. I feel sorry for her that she has been ill and that she has now hurt herself by doing strenuous dancing etc. But I still think she should of stepped down. She won't be able to practice for hours on end every day if she is in that much pain and as Doghouse Riley says she can't be given 'easy dances' either.

But I don't expect we'll all agree on this.

It's not the first time a celeb has had to carry an injury. It's up to the professional dancers to come up with routines that work within the differing levels of fitness, flexibility and strength as well as dance ability. That is rather the point - the professionals are challenged to make their celebs look good, not to make them all actually equally good at dancing.

In Anastacia's case, the injury came very close to the live show so Brendan didn't have a lot of time to change the routine. In future weeks, he'll probably be able to work around it better.

It's just a tv show. It doesn't actually matter who's in it as long as it's shiny image

  • I'm sorry she's been ill and that she is now injured,  but I think she should step down. If she can't do the routines like the other contestants then it is unfair to the others.

Is she that high profile......I can't remember what she sangimage

Who needs Strictly? The results of my Grandchildren's Dance Exam's where given out with the trophies at a get together in a local Hotel last night, Grandson and Granddaughter 15 and 12 got 94 out of 100 and a gold bar, another Granddaughter twelve got the diamond trophy. Definitely chips off the old block doing the same at their age. Future Strictly dancers? who knows although one very happy Granddad watching the video's over and over.

    Frank.

  • Aww congratulations Frank. One very proud Grandad and so you should be. Very well done to your grandchildren. Very best wishes to you all xx
