Out dancing last night so watched both shows tonight after dinner.
Loved Gemma's performance and also Alexandra and Daewood apart from his dodgy hands. Loved Oti's choreography and thought Jonny did well - given he has a prosthetic leg and thus a different action from others how fair is it to insist he tucks in his bum when we know he can't?
OH and I really disliked the choreography and music for AJ and Molly. Poor choreography for Debbie's samba too. The rest were OK. No horrors.
Didn't like the group dance tho it was interesting to see what Northern Soul is - bit after my time which was soul music in the 60s and 70s. Far too many on the floor at once and tricky lighting - supposed to show the dancers, not how clever the lighting technology is these days!
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I agree about him being expected to tuck his backside in. It was explained in one of the earlier shows that it's impossible for him to do that, and why. Somebody should have sat the judges down and shown them.
Yes Jonny wanted to be judged purely on his dance ability, but there has to be a bit of commonsense applied too. I did think he was looking drained over the past couple of weeks, so maybe the hours of training, with the stress on the leg, have been causing him problems. One of the judges did mention last week that his performance level seemed to have dropped in the past couple of weeks.
KT53, I agree too. I was actually talking to the judges on Saturday, .........he can't tuck his bottom in or point his foot!
I think it's probably run it's time. It's lost it's 'sparkle'..... I miss Len, and Brucie too. Tess and Claudia can be tiresome at times. The pigeon sketch was The costumes are rather drab this series.
I liked Len but do not miss Brucie at all. Irritating. Can't think why Claudia allows herself to do those lame sketches as she has a fierce intelligence behind those dippy eyes and that fringe.
Must admit I do like music with a proper Paso rhythm for that dance but rather enjoyed Sweet Dreams for the tango. I don't usually like it when they go modern. Can't imagine how they chose that music for Molly's Charleston. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

I simply cannot understand this "I hate Debby syndrome"? Is it because she can do things with her body most women her age cannot do, is it because she is dancing with some young Adonis making the women jealous and grumpy, is it because among young unknowns (well I had no idea who they were) she is well known, is it because she has a sharp brain and can pick up the often very complicated choreography, I think all of that. I notice the Newspapers and media call her Debby Magee magicians helper, she has been Mrs Daniels for many years and proved her loyalty she has earned her stripes. for goodness sake give her the due she deserves, how many women half her age could do it I ask.
As for the long face when in the dance off I never saw any of them smile when their name was called from the very beginning, I know the feeling having that tap on the shoulder saying you are not in the final six for the dance off, smiling is not what you want to do. I agree this year is not one I will look back on mainly because the few faces I did know were very obviously going to be out early. The BBC appear to be cutting back on things probably to pay the massive fees some of the top brass get, they would do away with Blackpool but could not face the uproar from the maddened crowd. The one thing that would put some of it right for me is go back to the classical dance music and sling this modern screech they play each week.
It's not Debbie age, or her slim figure......she's got nice legs too. Yes she can dance and yes she's nimble and the lifts are brilliant. But sorry Frank, I don't like her very much. I've seen her in interviews over the years and she doesn't come across as a nice lady.
We'll have to agree to disagree and I won't mention her again

My favourite version of Romeo and Juliet and Northern Soul at it's very best!
Just can't get into Strictly this year...I don't know why.

Mixed feelings about the new judge too.

I thought Jonny was looking tired too. But he can be proud of himself to get so far, that would be a good result even if he weren't handicapped.
I miss Len and Brucie too. I think some of the music for the ballroom dances is too modern.
