If you were in Greece or similar hot country, those medium sized fruits would continue to grow and ripen and you would be picking in January February.
Hang on to them for now. You never know, we might get a late Indian summer. But if the don't ripen before winter you should rub them off and let the little pea sized ones overwinter for next year's crop.
My tree is so big now I can't get round all the non developing fruits and I often just leave them on the bush over winter. They drop off eventually and the deer come and eat them. On a young plant best to rub them off before winter.
My newish tree at the allottment has lots of hard green fruits and don't think they will ripen but have decided to leave them on until later in the year , ever hopeful

Don't know. Might try that in the oven? Wish we could sun dry them but.....British summer!

Just made Nigel Slaters fig n walnut cake. Yummy and easy to make. Just got to make the cream cheese frosting!
O/H makes fig chutney , fabulous with cheese , would highly recommend it
an Italian speaking friend of mine once told me the Italian for fig is the same word as that for v*g*n*
I've never had one since.
I can see that possibly they're not to your taste Hosta - not even with goat cheese and honey
