Hogweed, you have my sympathy, I know from other friends in Scotland how bad the weather has been for you all, no summer at all for you guys, just not fair
Yep its the wind that is causing havoc in my part of Hampshire, I've been out today staking and removing battered and broken stems/blooms. I feel like crying at times seeing all my seed reared 'babies' under attack from the elements.I've cut so many plants back and now I'm waiting with fingers crossed to see if some with recover.
First summer i have not put the sun umbrella up in the ten years we have been here. So little flower but plenty of weeds, they pop up in front of my eyes!
Feel quite disheartened this year. I have put my pots of sweet peas in the greenhouse!
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
It's not been too bad here, once the summer got going - I've not mowed the lawns for weeks and weeks - they've stopped growing and have been quite brown, but are greening up a bit since we had some rain last week - certainly my tomatoes appear to have enjoyed the recent warmth and are looking good (famous last words )
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Good morning everyone , hoping that we all get a good dose of lovely weather today. Hosta, I live between Winchester and Southampton so we are near neighbours........have you too suffered with 'wind'????
I'm old enough to remember many good summers and many bad this one up until now hasn't been too bad granted it could be a bit warmer but there is still time for an Indian summer, having said that I cycled back from the allotment at lunch time with a sweat on and thought that it was quite warm enough for me.

I share your pain Lily Pilly!
No idea why it's so good for Verdun, just down the road from me.
I think it's been pants since the lovely April we had.
Flowers in the rain. I lived in Hants around bordon / Alton for over 20 years. Might I aske where you are.?
