LP - fantastic that you've seen a red squirrel - did you mean in your area? I'm sure that's very unusual.
At our last property, the only neighbour (across the road) chucked bread out every day which attracted endless amounts of crows, magpies and seagulls. He never realised how daft that was, and the 'rookery' in the trees down the hill was hellish.
They were useful at clearing up the squirrel and fox roadkill though...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Well, well, I just go away for a couple of days and come back to find that my thread has been hijacked, with a fair bit of unpleasantness along the way. I was imprisoned in the breakfast room for 15 yesterday when a greater spotted woodpecker was having breakfast.

Dumfriesshire Fairy, not that far. We are tucked in at the bottom corner near Crawfordjohn.
