I never called anyone murderous who controls animals expertly and with backing from the government/scientists/animal welfare groups. I have called a man who kills squirrels just coz he don't like em blood thirsty. Well, I have implied it, not said outright and I think the same of all folk who kill animals for not daring to do exactly what they say in a garden.

Not going to get into this except to say since living in a rural home ten years now I have had the blinkers taken off re animal life.
Our area was part if a government run scheme to remove grey squirrels and the difference has been amazing.
a red one seen this year, and , where there is one
Btw re crows OH has out my old knitting needles into bird feeders, the wee birds get on but the crows can't.
