    They can be quite fierce. I found two males having a fight, on was wounded so it moved it away and put it on a soft bed but it died. Sometimes they make nests in people's lofts and make a heck of a racket at night! Especially in mating and having babies seasons.

    Deffo NOT  the otter for me. 

    One of the critters got into my pond, ate all my fish,  ( non native ) and ruined all my water lilies.

    Mine was coastal otters Hosta - is that OK? (same species but they have the whole sea to play and fish in).

    Inland otters got into a neighbours pond a few weeks back and did similar damage - so I know they can be a pest from that point of view. She had some nice footage of the culprits taken with an infra red camera tho'..

    Bro has just lost some carp from his pond to otters teaching their youngsters to fish - but there's a whole river, some marshes and a decoy pond full of fish - they can share them image

    to be honest, I was more upset about the  lilies.

    But there must have been baby fish as the pond is pretty full again after 18 months.
