Hello Pat E, hope you are feeling better now. Just made plum and apple chutney, and pickled the beetroot. Last year I used a WI receipe, couldnt find it. Did not get so many plums this year, wish I had made jam instead. Was late Hubby desided to share some virus, so spent last weeks annual leave ill plums and apples were rotting.Oh, the WI recipe was in my kitchen! Got sections meant to be a wine rack, Hubby took out one bottom section so I could put cookbooks in there silly!!!!!!!!! We go to the Eastbourne bonfire and fireworks on the beach 3rd October. Worth seeing and completely free!
Hello all. here it is just after midnight and only now feel like joining in, I've felt rotten all day and just lay on the bed or lounge.nauseous and a bit gastric again. I'm pretty sure the medication I started last night didn't agree with me. I had 1 tablet last night and another this morning (as directed) and then had the most uncomfortable day. So I've not taken any more, am feeling a bit more alive tonight, but back in bed already for hopefully a good nights sleep. Catch you all later.
Ah, the trick is to turn up at their doorstep and say 'You WILL have a bag of pears won't you!' Actually, they were all very grateful and I was lucky to be just sober enough to drive home (all of 500 metres)
2 large or 3 small courgettes, grated with 1egg, 5oz caster sugar and 4fl oz veg oil.
in another bowl mix together:
7 oz plain flour, (I use half white half whole meal) half teaspoon each of salt and bi carb. Quarter teaspoon baking powder and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
lemon zest if you like.
cook in a greased or lined loaf tin for 45/50 mins at 160 c or gas Mark 3 .
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
