PS It would have been a long way to come to collect the roller!
True!
East Ren is south of Renfrewshire, and south of Glasgow- it is a bit misleading isn't it! We're just trying to confuse the English invaders...
I usually have cordon type toms and I don't grow many. Usually just buy a few plants but decided to try a few from seed this year as I'd just moved and had no greenhouse or conservatory. Will definitely do it again though. I have 3 Moneymaker plants which I've just potted on. They were a 20p bargain from B&Q so they will do fine for later on. Are yours cherry/plum types or are they bigger salad type varieties John?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hi Fairygirl, Apero is a small plum type, Red Alert is a bush variety, round, slightly larger fruits than say Gardeners Delight. Country Taste is a Beef type, large and reputedly the finest tasting tomato available. I say reputedly as I tried to grow them last year but the weather was very unkind and I only got 1 tomato from 6 plants as the cold & wet virtually destroyed the whole crop. Many other plants suffered the same fate too: Capsicum, Aubergine, Courgettes, Beetroot, Swiss Chard & more. In fact the only crops that were successfull were the Runner Beans, Carrots and Parsnips.
wWhen I say I don't really have a garden I'm not jokeing. The back is 7m by 4.6m and totally paved. Everything goes in pots. The front really can't be called a garden at all- but where there's a will there's a way. My baskets haven't done as well as usual this year but thought I'd post some pics so you can see .
It took ages to line up the pot at the front with the hanging basket so it looked as if violas were growing in pot.
Up to front door ( which I hate) the mud on path is left over from digging up primroses yesterday.
You can appreciate how large it is . It also shows how winter jasmin has folded down stopping the poor clematis.
You can see how I desguise my wheely bin.
The ladder was supposed to be picked up by someone on Freegle
Gerbera and Pelargoniums planted up by front door- thought I'd see if they grew more quickly planted up or in pots.
Pelargoniums replace primroses I dug up yesterday.

John Harding, metric measurements are really very easy; just remember, a litre's like a metre only wetter

Bev! If it has flowers in it! It's a garden!
and a very nice good looking one it is too!
What a fantastic effort you make with such a small space. There is a lot of challenge in that!
Smelling lovely & the spuds are doing ok.
Bev, am really impressed; it looks lovely and what hard work doing it all in pots
Thank you Dean, Wintersong and Artjak. I always think it is easier as very little weeding. Mind you just had a lovely peaceful hour watering.
KEF thatis a beautiful yellow, mine has got lost behind something, think it may have to be moved.
Past it's best now but took a pic to look back at in the winter months. Such a shame it doesn't have perfume.
