Garden maxed out
Having gained my first greenhouse in February, I'm finding I have the facilities to grow a substantial amount of plants. In fact too many plants and not enough garden is the problem I'm facing. Do I dig up yet more lawn and face the disapproving looks from my 85 year old Dad? (He helped me dig it over and sow it in 1998). Do I dig up plants I don't like? In fact I look at the greenhouse and think what I could plant in the space it occupies!! The neighbours are getting tired of being offered plants I suppose I'm thinking out loud here and no doubt this is a conundrum faced by gardeners down the ages.

I have a similar problem. I live on my own and love baking. I am sure my neighbours are fed up with me coming to their doors bearing my latest offering. Or are they?????????? I wished I lived next door to me and you Fishy - free plants and cakes - heaven!
Remove the lawn, compost anything that doesn't earn it's keep and sell your plants at any boot fairs or fêtes. Face the inevitable
and enjoy your greenhouse
You're both right I know and its a pleasant problem to have. Hogweed, do cakes travel well by post??
Very true Verdun and the dogs would miss charging up and down its length. And the look of a fresh cut lawn, the outside equivalent of a hoovered carpet.
It's not garden I lack, it's garden in a state to have anything planted in it
In the sticks near Peterborough
Hoovered carpet, stop swearing Fishy , hoover is not a word to be mentioned.
I don't miss my lawn a single bit but each to their own
gardens are never maxed out and i don't want to ever hear you say that again. there is always room for just one thing more.
Indeed we do Edd...in fact he likes to sit in there when he comes over
He's a traditional gardener and likes to see a lawn.
