Today, Nutcutlet and 2 of her keen gardening friends (one of whom gives talks on snowdrops) and my ignorant self went to 2 National Garden Scheme gardens, by appointment. We arrived at the first at 12.00 and left the 2nd at 5.00. What was so amazing was that being 'by appointment' the owners in both cases took us around telling us the history of the gardens (they were both rough ground until a few years ago) and the names of the plants. We were then given a wonderful cream tea with homemade jam. What a day out! Here are a few pics;
Long view of Twin Tarns
This garden is full of lovely vistas
A splendid adults tree house with fabulously comfortable chair hanging below
Rest of the tree house overlooking site of former home of Bishop of Ely.
Bridge over fern gully
Nut and I really liked this stone seating area with sedums growing everywhere
Small flower meadow with path mowed through
Steps and sedums
Some water pics; there were loads of dragon and damsel flies here
A little waterfall

So annoying, there is a limit on how much one can upload; but no sign or signal to tell you when you've over done it!
Will show more pics tomorrow.
