  • Crocismia Lucifer is much taller than the Orange montbretia (anyone know the difference between montbretia/crocosmia?). And Lucifer can flop too - I put supports in.

I think the crocosmia flowers are on top and so are more showy and montbretia flowers are under the stem.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Ahhh thanks busy-lizzie I will look out for that this summer.image

I have both Verdun.  Lucifer was bought from the garden centre and the Montbretia was transplanted from my daughters garden.  Neither are rampant in my garden.  Well, not so far.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Don't know which mine areimage but will also check this summer Busy-lizzie. I love them but himself moans cos however far back in the borders I have them they flop over his lawn. They have multiplied and I dig loads up and move or give to my daughter.(I think she likes them)  but the original planting always comes up, so I think they might be hard to eradicate.

Wish my border looked as good as yours Lynimage
