Growing some in pots sounds a brilliant idea. I have just about eradicated one clump but still get the odd leaf coming up. I'm hoping that if I pull up the leaf it will weaken the corm. Only two clumps to go now but one is mixed with the roots of a large azalea. Good luck MaisieM
I love it, from its first bright green shoots to its bright, blousy gaudiness. I purposely planted it when I first did this border about 3 years ago, I do, however, keep the clumps controlled or it would run riot. I find it very easy to get out.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Your garden is beautiful Lyn and, as you say, if you can keep on top of it then you're fine. I didn't know how they spread when we first moved here so they've run riot.
Maisie, I just try to keep on top of mine - pull them out when I see them growing. It is a pain though.
About 6 months ago I decided I was going to let them 'do their own thing', but they had spread so farI had to dig them up a few a weeks ago - hard work! I won't let them spread again.
I am slowly digging mine out - not because I don't like the flowers but because as the season progresses the leaves tend to flop across the other flowers. Maybe crocosmia is more upright?

Thank you Verdun, we get very hard frosts here, Dordogne is usually colder than England in winter, so that must be it. I do water in summer.

Thank you Lesley. They will do that if you don't keep on top of them. Gardening for relaxation, I think not!!!
Gorgeous garden Lyn!

I would like them more if I got more flowers from them but they are mostly leaves. However, my crocosmia Lucifer is blaze of colour.
