I put up some tool hooks today! I was going to ask my husband to do it but he was busy so I got hold of his toolkit and electric screw driver and did the job myself image

I'm feeling well chuffed with it now. It's always better when you can do things for yourself. Tomorrow I'll get him to help me put up the shelf then it might be ready for a photo. It's nothing special but it's mine image

  • I'm far too chicken to put my whole body in any of my sheds because of beasties image I put whatever I need from the shed within reaching distance of the door. That solves my problem but not 'im indoors who likes a tidy shed and doesn't mind beasties. I can cope with most things but not them *shudder*

lunaria your shed looks wonderful image

That's the stuff Daryl2. Must be exciting planning where everything's going.

Fruitcake,  I'm far braver in the shed. If there's a spider in the house however I cower behind a door until my husband deals with it.

Didn't get the shelf done today because the weather was so lovely that I got sidetracked with sorting out the new border by the drive. Back to shed sorting tomorrow image

  • Deeply inspired by all your comments!

Lunaria - my shed wants to be your shed when it grows up, please.

My 'comfy corner' appears to be growing out of all proportion to the available space. A refurb'ed paraffin heater, my favourite copper kettle, brass trivet (don't want to scorch the potting table, do we?), tea and coffee pots, more books...

On a more business-like note, I have just struck my first cuttings - shrubs including forsythia, willow, kerrya (sp?) - all sorts really. Technically the wrong time of year, but why not try? They were the prunings from a friend's garden and my shredder's died from overuse, so recycling a different way.

And, in the 'taming my field' front, I am about 2 days' work away from 'breaking sod'. Found a stash of Staffordshire Blue pavers in the former undergrowth, which of course resulted in a retreat to the potting shed to consider my path options...where I had a lovely cup of tea! In my armchair!

    Bliss on a stick, guys.

Darryl The weather was not great here. I didnt do any gardening at all today. I only went out to the shed to eat sweets. image

    No worries RD

Fieldtamer Nothing beats a comfy corner. With all your things round around you.image Do we get a pic? I did once suggested putting a little fridge out there. Apparently thats "ridiculous" lol I like that sound of the brass kettle and trivet. One thing I don't have is a heater.

  • Heater boils the kettle and dries the gloves - essential item, Lunaria.

Waiting for payday for camera...what this space. Might be a biggish space, since I'll have to figure out how to use said camera and then upload. My last camera was a 1930s Paxette!

I won't need a fridge, but I have an old mangle to squash my apple harvest with. I'm an apple juice-aholic!

Who wants gonna want tea and coffee in my shed, not when we can have freshly mangled apple juice round yours.

Your heater is a great, multipursose. So far I've gotten away with leaving the greenhouse door open to let in some heat. My second greenhouse doesn't have any ventilation. I have hit temperatures of over 100 degrees in there. I can't put  plants in but it's great for drying my laundry and letting in some heat.  I was given some brilliant gloves for my birthday last June.  They are a kind of thick latex. They are thick enough to protect from thorns but thin enough for everyday use. They are also waterproof. They have also lasted since June,  which for me is a record. I did spot them in homebase.
