Thank you LesleyK, I'm sure I described it through rose tinted glasses. But I do love my shed.

I was in mine about an hour ago image I've got a potting bench, piles of pots and plastic trays, the garden tools, an oily rag for wiping the garden tools. An old chair for when I want to sit and watch the birds (bird table is right outside). Lime, organic fertilizer and that sort of thing. Oh and a CD player, I ike a bit of music when potting up. Only thing not in there for now is bags of compost, got them indoors to keep them warm so my little seedlings and seeds don't have to go into cold dank compost, they go in nicely pre-warmed compost I take out with me when needed. image

My brand new shed was just put up for me this morning! It's only 8'x4' and so far only has two rakes in it! Tomorrow my husband is going to help me put up a shelf and some tool hooks then I can get everything in there that is currently cluttering up my greenhouse. Can't wait!

Lunaria, rose coloured specs or not your shed sounds wonderful and very loved image

Thank you for the comments. Runny beak you would be very welcome. Its very much and open door policy. My shed was a lot of hard work. It was a grimey man cave when I took over it. The previous owner used it for repairing motor bikes. The windows had about 20 years of spider webs over them. You couldn't see out. I am very scared of spiders. But somehow I forced myself out there and scrubbed the place clean. The floor was thick of oil. I swept up years of filth. Used syringes, condoms you name it, it was there.  There was a big black lidded bin. Full of syringes, beer bottle and cigarette butts.  I sorted by hand. The bin now holds my compost. I scrubbed every inch of the shed and made it mine.  I spent 3 weeks just cleaning and sorting pots. Then it was all painted white. I dread to think how much I spent on paint. Layers and layers of it. Well worth it, it hides many sins. I did get a bit obsessed.  The school desk and drawers I found buried under filth and made them beautiful again. And the rest just came together. It's still a work in progress.  I'm too scared to put up pics. It won't live up to the image I have described.

My shed this gloomy Monday morning.

The potting shed side. A bit too dark but you get the idea. My potting area is made from old kitchen units and work tops.  The door to the left leads into the greenhouses.

The chill out area is a bit of a mess just now. But there my comfy chair. I can't seem to turn it around.

I just love my tea towel hooks. I got them both for 20p  in the charity shop.

It's all still a work in progress.

  • Wow, that shed is huge! The cosy corner looks lovelyimage Great hide away for a cuppa and a good book image

We used our old kitchen units in the garage, very useful.

Thank you star gaze lily. The shed is pretty big. The pictures are not the best. Still leads lots of work to do, but is getting there. I much prefer to reuse things than buy anything new. Its very shabby chic. I've seen shabby chic sheds online that are far too pretty. You would be scared to drop a bit of compost. My sitting area is comfortable but still a shed, you can kick your muddy wellies off. And have a cuppa without worrying about leaving muddy foot prints on the rug.

I am a shed bore. I seem to have hijacked the thread. I would love to see/hear about other people's sheds.

If I had a shed like that I'd be a shed bore too!

But don't the spiders come back.....

I'm too frightened to clear out my shed, some big beasties in there!

Yes, the spiders come back. A bonus of all the white paint is you can see them coming. I am constantly cleaning in there so I don't really see many now. They do still come out at night but I try not to be around then.

Thank you, Runny beak. I will look forward to seeing yours.

Daryl2 how's progress  coming on your new shed?
