Lovely pix from everyone again. That's a really pretty view from your door Frit
Took a couple of my Chrysographes Irises a couple of days ago. They're in with Clematis Niobe against my 'screen'. The clematis winds in and out and looks very nice from the other side as well
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Gasp, is that clematis Niobe??? Dang! I came across some small plants for offer in the spring, and almost got one, but then I thought, nah, it will turn out magenta, ick... now we wants it... gollum, gollum...
Yes Katherine - I've always wanted it and never got round to it in any of my previous gardens. It's slightly redder than it appears in the pic - but it's full of velvety and luscious gorgeousness

I bought a small plant last spring Katherine (about 12" in a 4 or 5" pot) - potted it into one of those deep plastic pots you see clems in, and then planted it out last autumn. It was well fed about a month ago and that's the result now. It's around 3 or 4 feet on both directions and covered in buds.

After listening to you all I have just bought 2 Niobe from Crocus, great looking plants
just letting them acclimatise (is cold and wet again today) before planting.
hope they look as good as everyone else's. they are going in the wall that was repaired last year.
