Been a good year so far for Hazel catkins. If you look closely at the branches, just behind the catkins you may see tiny red flowers. With any luck, there will be a good crop of nuts for you. Joybell.
kitty 2, yes its a contorted Hazel and about 20 years old, there are 2 others in the garden, but are only about 6 years old and not as many catkins on.
Berghill I have just been out and found tiny, tiny red flowers, as you said. I do pick the nuts in the autumn and eat them.
Lovely pics everyone as always, probably a bit late but here are my Hellebores. I had never heard of Hellebores until my GW friends introduced me to them last year and and they have been beautiful.
Nut - your garden is looking fab. I keep noticing the tree with fluffy yellow pom pom flowers in other peoples's gardens .......and now I know what they are called
