You're right - I did mean helleboresimage  Will get out there with the bfb this weekend. Mulching might have to wait til later, as I have too many bulbs in that bed to mulch until the leaves die down.  Thanks for the tip.

Not exactly a garden picture, but I'd forgotten about this amaryllis and left it in a pot for 2 years, only being watered by rain. Then I found it being eaten by a slug so I re-potted it and have been feeding and watering it and look what it's done!

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I love it when amaryllis do that. I buy new every year, but throw the old ones in the greenhouse for the summer. They die down and then sometimes at this time of year there is a phallic bud rising and I bring it indoors to flower.image

    Hello everyone,

Just taken photos of the garden today, to show what is in flower. Started cutting back last years perennials and generally clearing up.

I love seeing all the photos, so thank you.

Lovely pictures Joybell.  Is that a twisted hazel?  I have a small one in a pot on my patio but I have nowhere near as many catkins as you. Yours looks amazing, thank you for sharing your photos.
