thank you all...our dacha is close to a spring lake which is great for swimming in , in Russia you have to check all water for organic and biological ....well stuff....I'm an Irishman , I swam in the Irish sea across from Windscale for many years .....so I know what it is like to be illuminated
Beautiful pics from everyone. Dacha your place looks gorgeous. Panda the one you forgot is lychnis. Hefty - what is the blue plant in the second photo please?
This clematis, Miss Bateman, is the star in the garden so far.
Hi all , it's a real scorcher here....touching 30 degrees in the sun.....oh for those crisp Russian winter days, it was -35 when this was taken , our Yorkie love the winter so he can get dressed up
So to cool down we have been in for a swim , the lake is frozen over for about 5 months of the year , dotted with fishermen ice fishing.....the properties on the opposite bank are mostly traditional wooden summer dachas where the grandparents and children stay all of the summer growing vegetables for the winter and parents arrive at the weekend .There are some new brick buildings popping up also. Nobody has running water so we drill and pump , there is a traditional hand p pump across the lake . We have a utility room full of filtration systems. To water the lawn we take water from the lake so eventually it just finds its way back there.
