Hefty, so vibrant! That blue collection is stunning!
Sanjy, truly inspirational! Your fireplace is genius! I've been looking at a fitrepit but they are so expensive, we used to have a big incinerator bin that we had communal community burnings in! Large shed with DJ, everyone bring a dish, that sort of thing. But our incinerator bin has rusted beyond use now and have been looking for replacement to get the old parties going again! the neighbours don't mind, they all come along! You have got my brain ticking over with all sorts of ideas now! Thanks for sharing everyone!
Wonderful photos of lots of beautiful gardens on here, most of my garden is still very green, hope the weather warms up so I can catch up and have some colour when the flowers start to bloom.
Sanjy, I really love the fireplace, you are so lucky to have such a handy hubby. We have an old oil drum for our "community burnings" similar to what WonkyWomble describes minus the DJ. It lives behind a huge weigela bush when not in use. Your garden looks great for it's first year of proper planting, can't wait to see more as it matures.
wonky i'd build a fire pit not buy one, loads of ideas on pinterest or google 'firepit ideas' then look on 'images' you could use the bricks out of old night storage heaters or you can make that stuff from clay & straw i think, you and your friends have to tread it in using feet on a tarpaulin, and then you slap it on , i get the feelin you wld be up for that
the fireplace woodburner i have was going to be thrown in a skip, it's gorgeous cast iron all cut out on the doors, the 'hole' on the side is a cut down chimney pot for decor looks only, the chimney pot is a 'save' and the york stone on the top is also what i had from when i took out the horrid fireplace indoors and there were a few bits in the garden too, the bricks are old as i said from jobs
all the wooden planters, lettuce frame & bird houses are made from free pallets by me & the 6 herb pots are hanging on an old iron gate (if you look close you can see the latch etc) i knew i'd think of something to use it for in the end
thanks chicky , it weighs a ton!! i didn't do anything to the gate it still has the latch and noogins where it wld fix to a wall, all part of the rustic charm
lovely gardens pics everyone!! can't wait till mine is more established and alive with colour, looks a bit bare atm.

Guem Lady Stratheden
Took some pics yesterday before the wind and rain started, luckily no damage to lillies or greenhouses.
Thanks for all sharing your beautiful gardens
and new design ideas
Is it just me or do terracotta pots seem to multiply, I have more this year.
salvias and delphiniums
Love the blue of that delphinium - and a very pretty poppy has snuck into the background too
