Lovely pics folks - there is still so much colour out there
i grew heliotrope from seed this year and it was pretty easy. Got some good sized plants by growing them on in the greenhouse. However, when I planted them out they got completely decimated by slugs, in a way that none of my other plants did. I only had one plant make it through to flowering (although that is very nice, it just looks a bit odd on its own). So undeceided whether to bother again next year. If I go for it, slug pellets will be needed
I've often considered growing it but I think many scented plants need a lot more heat than we get here. Do you think that's the case with Heliotrope Verd?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thought so Verd. I had rose New Dawn in a previous garden - in a good position where it caught plenty of sun. Could barely smell it even when I stuck my nose right in it! Thought for a while it was just me when people talked about it's great perfume...

Runnybeak
Yes it`s Gypsophila , this one takes a bit of time for the flowers to fully bloom , but it`s well worth the waiting . Wendy.
