Well done Tootles, you beat me.  I ordered one (or so I thought) but it turned out to be the self watering one that chicky posted a pic of.  I am now waiting for the heated one to arrive so I'll be able to have a production line as wellimage.  Now I've just got to choose the seedsimage

Woody - i do west facing for germination and north facing (but turned every couple of days to stop them leaning too much to the light) for growing on a bit.

Lesley image - look forward to comparing notes on production lines imageimage.  I will be sowing my first batch in mid Febimage

Mine arrived today and now I've got to decide what seeds I want - a lovely dilemma to haveimage

Tootles that's the one I've just bought image

  • Looks just like my super seven, except mine is not heated.  I have had great success with it and not had to worry about trailing wires or the cost of electricity.  My heated one (that I had before) brought the seeds on too quickly and then some seeds were up and others weren't and you had to choose to heat all of them or none.

I hope you are more successful than I was.

Not yet Tootles as I'm waiting for the seeds I've ordered to arrive.  I've bought the compost and am raring to get going.  What have you sown so far?

Ooooh where have you ordered your seeds from LesleyK? What have you gone for?

I planted Zinnias, larkspurs, echinops, didiscus, scabiosa, double cosmos and dahlias.  All for my cut flower garden which I'm having a go at for the first time. Hoping to have enough flowers for a vase a week, and the odd bunch for family and friends.

They sound a nice selection Tootlesimage.  I've been seduced by the Sarah Raven catalogue and ordered dahlia bishops children, salvia patens, cerinthe, monarda, calendula, anchusa and ammi majus.  I've also saved cosmos seeds from last year to see how they do.  Fingers crossed.

  • Tootles that looks good, great going with the seed sowing, I want cut flowers this year as well as you,  I have the same little trays lots of them but not the bottom bit just lots of trays and lids, a few on my window sill radiator underneath

Lesley have you got the compost ready?
