You're absolutely right, Pippin4... eternal optimists, and patient with it.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

ive had the dreaded sore throat & horrid cold that has been going around so not been in garden for two days, popped my head out back door to find the little plastic greenhouse on it's side due to the wind and every plant inside had come out of it's pot and was all up one end so just spent the last hour and half putting them all back in pots, all the labels had come out too and can't remember all of them so will be googling leaves for id grrr and it was freezing and raining so i'm back under the duvet trying to warm up again.

Got out earlier today and pruned my monster Phormium to give other plants more light and air

Planted a shrub I had been ummming and arrrring about for too long then went plant shopping and bought some white cushions, pink cushions, little white pillows, 3 apricots and my favourite purchase of the day, Lonicera japonica Aureoreticulata image

    Not easy at all!

It was hard work but as you say, well worth it visually image

    Thanks image

  • sunshine and showers, but continued removing self-seeded forget me nots as they are going over now and delighted to find things growing underneath, as well as loads of snails just asking to be removed - found a pink peony, some gaillardias, and annual rudbeckia which must have overwintered, and can now see the spaces ready for the stuff dyng to be liberated from the greenhouse. Tied up a solanum and trimmed it back and ended by picking some beautiful rhubarb....guess what's for supper tonight?

Runny break , I left potatoe sacks in G/H for the moment to protect from these late frosts / low temperatures

have to say I have no idea what some of these plants are that people mention , if I had time I would goggle them , never very good with names anyway image
