I thought she did too Gardenmaiden, I would have liked to have seen the scoring. As her garden was the winner, was it simply because she marked down the other two? It seemed her husband was the sort to go along with her to keep the peace. image I would watch it again, though I really think the format could have been thought out far better, somebody got paid a lot of money for the show and the competitive part really isn't working as far as I can see.

I really didn't notice any sharp comments but maybe I FFW'd through them - by the time I'd cut out the biographies, challenges, comments, scoring and adverts, the programme only took abt a third of it's air-time for me to watch image

With any of these reality TV shows I am always very aware of how an editor's 'touch' can make a jokey or off-the-cuff remark seem quite nasty or fabricate a 'dirty tricks' plot where none exists (Think Bake-Off ice cream saga...).

Wonder if any of the entrants are members on here? - would be quite interesting to hear what it was like taking part - although I don't think I'd blow my anonymity if I was one of them!

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

It could be Topbird, certainly got us voicing opinions and talking about the show though, so may well have been some choice editing to show one of the competitors in a certain light. It worked for me, she got my back-up in the first 30 seconds. image

I agree, the competitive element and the 'masterclass' elements were completely unecessary.  Like Topbird I didnt notice any snide comments.  I thought they were pretty complimentary about each others patches.

Nice to see gardens that are not half an acre and larger for a change!  Will be good to see if future programmes feature smaller gardens too.

Liked parts of all three gardens, but the second one was more to my style.

Nice to have a bit of a gardening monopoly on the TV for a change. Hubby loved garden 3 and now wants to change everything in our garden (shall ban him from watching in future!!) Found the formula/competition very irritating though image

  • My parents are in program number three, no spoilers, but they said it was most enjoyable and have met up with their fellow competitors several times since and they all get on a treat.
