  • Just looked at bindweed on google and the leaves did look like that. can that go through walls or in cavitys? it was very long and looked like it was searching for light as all of the underneath was white/yellow and only the bit that came through was green with leaves.

  • no muddy fork. it was through the oven hob. when followed it goes to a place between the wall and cupboard on the side of the house joined to next doors house(semi) the sink in on the other side.

It only needs the tiniest space, between concrete floor and wall eg. to get in. If there are wooden floor boards - even easier.

If it is bineweed it is a sneaky weed -but it cant to any real damage to a house-it grows from any small bit of root-unlilely to get through walls or cavities-was the cooker installed recently?

My builder put DPC plastic down on the drive, before laying gravel. When I cut a hole in the DPC to plant something there are often immensely long bindweed roots just raring to go the minute they find a bit of light. It is a real nuisance though I have to admire its' tenacity. Yes your leaves do look pretty much like bindweed.

  • Yes, the kitchen was fitted 1 year ago. not sure about the floor. i think its concrete below the laminate but not sure.  What can i do to get rid?

I think you can relax now -it seems to be nothing major after all

You need to apply a glyphosate based spray or gel-like Round- up-to the leaves wait until you have a good amount of leaf to apply it to-that takes it through the plant and kills it down to the root-might take 2/3 weeks to work

if you can see where it comes from you could try some sort of gap filler. It won't get big and break up structures like ivy might.

If there's bindweed outside you could weedkill next year.
