of course there is always the worst case scenario, that it is japanese knotweed, which can and does grow through anything.  Please don't let it be dry rot..........

    PHOTO ???

  • Just hope its not Japanese knotweed.

  • I've got photos but haing problems uploading them

  • The laeves that have come through are green but all behind the oven and cupboards are white and stringy.  Does ivy have green leaves with white around the edge? there is some of that next to the wall outside.

You can always download photos to an external site-like flicker or photobucket and link to that

    Joanne

This is getting difficult-a picture is really needed-if you have got plants coming through walls it is a problem -you maybe seeing roots or it could be something more serious-they could be roots stems anything-at the moment all replies are speculation

Again new build or old house -what sort of external wall is it?

  • I have changed my profile pic to include one of my photos.

The hose ws built in the late 60s and that particular wall is made of brick. Although there are bits of cladding around the house. The house is in milton keynes and a lot of the houses here are pre fab and were only built to last 30 years .
