Yes , back to Christmas , I have just thought what I could have for Christmas

     A battery strimmerimage

It could help in cutting the grass around the edge of my allottment and the beck bank on side of garden image

my good lady is going to make some mince pies this week because she is going to an early Christmas Do on Thursday image

Blimey GWRS - that IS early!!!

My list will have to include a new pruning knife - I think mine is being composted at the moment! image

Am also thinking about asking for some Backdoor shoes. Helen Yemm rates them quite highly for comfort etc & I'm fed up of pulling on my wellies just to get some parsley or a couple of logs when it's wet. Just wish they weren't quite such startling designs / colours!!

I love my back door shoes Topbird - great for when you take bins out, bring washing in, feed birds etc. The new ones are big enough to let me put them on without taking my slippers off  image

Mine are dark green - got them in B&Q. Gave the turquoise ones to oldest daughterimage

Alan, I just mentioned on Hello Forkers that your village had been hit by lightnig!

Glad you're ok - I'd have a brandy in that coffee if I were you!

Sorry Alan - you snuck in there while I was posting image

I love a good storm but not when it gets frightening like that! Hope everything gets sorted soon.

We lost power for 2 days  last October in that brief but oh-so-strong gale force wind. They came to reconnect the power lines fairly quickly but cut through the phone lines when they were putting in a new telegraph pole! No phone or internet for over 2 weeks - we were on Look East & in the papers because BT were so rubbish at keeping us informed about what was going on. My 15 mins of fame......

Hope all goes well for you & your neighbours

I had to google 'backdoor shoes' and discovered I have some; £4.00 from Wilkinsons. Very useful and so comfy I even wear them in the house sometimes. My neighbour got some that are lined with fluffy stuff and I'm a bit jealousimage

Thanks Artjak - the ones I'm thinking of are a trade name (actually called "Backdoor Shoes") & were recommended in my newspaper. I don't know if they are actually any better than the sort you & Fairygirl have - they are certainly more expensive! image

They also have photo prints all over them which is why they look a bit garish. Maybe I should go & check out the cheaper ones first if they are just as comfortable to wear (then I might get a garden voucher thrown in as well!! image)

TBird, I had to get the size smaller than I normally take as they are made pretty large.

I think I'll put some of the fluffy lined ones on my Christmas list.image  Artjak yours are in a precarious position there - mine have been decorated with teethmarksimage

That's what mine look like only a darker green. Think mine were about £6 although the bright ones I had before were double that I'm sure. You're right about the sizing art - that's why I can get my slippers on with them! image

I didn't call them backdoor shoes until I heard Chris Evans calling them that. I expect his are the trade named ones though image
