Many hugs to all who need them.  This is such a difficult time of year for many of us, all life's tragedies seem to come out at Christmas.

Daughterand family coming over from Moscow for Christmas and have rented a house in the Yorkshire hills so we will all be together,London lot coming too, first time in years.

However, she tells me that The Russian Christmas is not celebrated until 2 weeks after us, Russian Orthodox Church.

on a completely different note, my fight with the water company continues But I won a round yesterday. We are having dye tests done. Should be interesting. Verdun you would have been proud of me!

In our 'Christian' country, I am not sure many know what Christs Mass is about.

Morning all. Think I'll keep my had down on this topic.  I'm fed up with all the hype on Tele about this time of year. I'm convinced that whatever anyone believes, the commercial aspects of it is the main focus now and I've no patience with it all.  I'm bowing out - need to get washing out before it gets too hot to stand under the clothes line!image

I am a Christian. It doesn't matter what date Jesus was born, but we like to celebrate his birth. I can understand people who don't believe in Christianity, everyone has a right to their beliefs, but I can be upset by the prejudice I've sometimes met by non-believers towards Christians. I don't really like to discuss religion on forums, not the place, but, as far as I am concerned, I have found the Christian religion to be a caring one and I think caring for each other is important.

    Nuff said, nearly bedtime.

Busy-L. I agree that it's not nice to criticise other people's beliefs and choices. It makes me feel uncomfortable. My old Mum used to say we shouldnt discuss politics or religion. I'm not sure where that saying came from , but it's less uncomfortable for people of you're not being badgered one way or the other. Have a good sleep.image

My Mum said that too, Pat, but she added sex to it!

Busy-L. That's a new one for me!  Makes you think though. Haven't attitudes changed with all we are exposed to on TV?   The subject of sex doesn't raise any eyebrows nowadays, which many young people don't seem to understand.  I'm just an old crabby woman who doesn't really want change. image
