Like bekkie, I'm not up to speed with happenings on this thread, having said that I send my best wishes to Matty and hope she makes a quick & complete recovery.
Thank you everyone for your kind words. They really are a comfort.
our friend Linda was taken off oxygen this afternoon and is holding her own.
a really good sign and everyone is a little more relaxed today.
on a gardening note work started to remove our tree today We didn't see how much damage it has caused. 9, 12 year old thuja all snapped off and my gorgeous little blue spruce hit so hard it has been thrust into the ground. O H very depressed tonight and wants to move. Finding it hard to stay positive. Praying we don't get hit now with snow.

Phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here comes the next lot of "weather" We had thunder, lightining and really serious, heavy hail last night, the garden was still white this morning. Snow on Dartmoor. Now it is hammering down stairods and blowing a hooley.
I am tucked up indoors, just made a big pan of leek and potato soup to share with my poorly friend who is having her next session of chemo., on Mon.
Yeah! I have at last finished a 1500 piece jigsaw I bought for myself before Christmas. It was only 99p but has been soooo hard! It is an abstract pic. by artist Kadinsky. I am going to try and mount it to hang on a wall and pretend itm is an original.
No chance of any gardening, really cold and wet. I want to get out to plant my tulips and begin making inroads into the uncultivated sections of the garden but not in this weather.
I have been looking through my packets of seeds as it is time to begin sowing some of them. I went to Heligan on Mon. and bought a paperback book on growing plants from seed. It is very comprehensive and has some useful info., in it. By Karen Platt, Growing from Seed,£2.99, published by Karen Platt. I think some newcomers to gardening might find it a bit frightening or heavy going as she only uses Botanical names, except for veg., and herbs. I also bought a book on cooking with honey as a birthday present for my son-in-law who is a honey addict. The recipes sound really yummy, might get a copy for myself. Also bought some interesting packets of seed to try.
Am going to light the fire and hibernate for the rest of the day.
Really enjoying the current gardening programs, especially the iris and grasses. A timely reminder to me to lift and split my iris, perhaps that is why they didn't flower so well last year.
