Edd.  (10.45am). He has just been down and picked a bowl full and is now making them into little pastry tartlets. They seem to have survived the hail last night. He has left some for our grandson to pick as he is expected for a visit today.  The vines/branches are vicious with thorns right up to the base of the berries, so I'm not sure how grandson will like sucking his fingertips afterwards to get the sharp bits out. There is always a method to Hubby's madness. Couldn't tempt him with the meat suggestion.image

Very very sad today, my much loved cousin whom I had a special bond with has died. We lost his mum two days ago.  It's been difficult  I am astounded at the family's dignity and courage.  An example to us all I feel.

its such a tragedy at this time of year
