  • A very upsetting day for you Verdun. Hang in there, you have lots of support in the ether.

Been to the vet hospital. Bad news about Tigger (my lovely 12 year old Border Collie). He has liver cancer. He's had blood tests and an echography. Starting cortisone tomorrow and if he seems to be in pain then it's euthanasia. Vet said heart isn't too good either. He can't give exact prognosis, if Tigger eats and drinks then could be 2 - 3 months, if can't eat could be as little as a week. But he has eaten today. Have another appointment on Tuesday. It all seems to have happened so quickly. In 10 days he's gone so downhill and lost a lot of weight. Fur looks awful.

  • Oh Lizzie ((hugs)) imageI'm so very sorry to hear that - as you say, all you can do is make him as comfortable as possible and let him know he's loved and then make things easy for him.  Thinking of you and sending love xx

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that Lizzie.  It has been very rapid hasn't it?  He is such a lovely dog and you must be devastated.  Hugs x.

  • Busy-Lizzie, I am so very sad for you.   My husband has a lovely Border Collie, she is the apple of his eye and so clever.   Helps him with his chickens, finds them when they have gone to roost in the trees, rounds them up and brings them home.  I would swear that she can recognise each chicken, because she will put it into the correct pen.   They are such clever and faithful dogs.   I hope you have some more time with your Tigger.
