Yep - just use the hose image

The only problem with grass to the edge - is keeping clippings out of the pond when you cut it. Even with a collection box they still sneak in so you may want to have something to prop against the edges to prevent that,or leave a strip of grass which you can cut by hand. Alternatively, some bog lovers like Caltha at the edge will help form a barrier too, as the grass will be soggy from being in contact with the water.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Peat - probably both I'd say image

Fairygirl - I need to buy a new one as my wayward son made off with the other. Use a bucket?

One end of the pond (hole) disappears into a flower bed so I'll just have to improvise with the liner there.

Can I just say folks? This forum has a way of making you feel part of a family. I don't want to go all misty-eyed on you but I've spent the evening deliberating over this and that regarding this pond. I post just once and here you all are...offering advice and support. Thank you. OK speech over image

Water stuff............. If you have a shed nearby, you could use the run off from the roof, into some guttering, and direct it into the pond after filling the rain butt. Just attach a sort of overflow pipe from the but then into the pond. 'swhat I do, and it works very efficiently, keeps the pond topped up, and it's all natural. Ta daaahhh !

What a lovely pond Lyn!! I'm hoping mine will look as good eventually but probably about half the size. Very nice liner too image

Do you like it brown side showing, I could, in fact I did, have it black side out, then I made himself empty it and turn it over!

I think the brown is probably more 'nature friendly',less imposing. Next year that pond will really be blooming Lyn!! Roll on 2015 image
