Aww thanks Fairygirl - the dogs will have to be content at drinking only though.

I'm looking forward to getting some plants in there and maybe creating a little bog garden on the far side. I've got some left over liner for that. Is it simply a case of digging out some turf, laying some liner underneath and refilling with soil? Lyn has sent me some Ragged Robin seed for starters image

Would a liner, underneath, be a submarine ?

Wow, Fishy, thats brilliant!  you need to dig down about a foot place the liner, with a few little holes so you get a bit of drainage, put some gravel or something in the bottom then the soil on top.

Lyn's right Fishy - there needs to be a bit of drainage for bog garden planting. The gravel in the bottom helps to stop the holes getting clogged up which prevents the soil becoming sour. The holes are necessary or it will become  another pond image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I shall have to 'ponder' this problem. Can we pool our thoughts?

Come on Peat, that's a bit wet isn't it. Though it can be easy to get bogged down and fall into a never ending stream of cliches image

Oh no!! I forgot the gravel image Should I take the soil out again? I did put a lot of holes in the liner...

Yes! take it all out and put in the grave or the soil will just block up the holes.

You didnt think you were going to get away with it that easy, all dug and done in a dayimage
