I'll have a look when I get home but i could really do with sorting it soon coz as u say Bek im as impatient as hell

I just decided it doesn't really need to be evergreen but i just thought it would look nice

If its sheltered, have a look at that tropaeloum wotsit that i mentioned earlier, quite a spectacular looking plant image
  • Mick, you could try annual climbers next summer while you're waiting for the evergreen one. They will need some sort of trellis but only a temporary one - the chicken wire might do for that tooimage

..I wouldn't plant a self clinger against a brick wall like that...as eventually you may get fed up with it and when you remove it, the appearance of the bricks can be spoilt from the effects of the plant....

..you ought to consider wall shrubs instead of climbers... assuming you have a red brick wall to cover... then something like Cytisus battandieri - the pineapple broom, which is a fast..rapid growing evergreen, which can be fan trained against a wall.... inserting some vine eyes and fixing wire will be needed but even I can do that...so anyone can...

...not everyone likes Fremontodendron 'California Glory' because it's rather uncomfortable to prune... bristly hairs which irritate... but if you are young and carefree...you needn't worry too much...it makes a magnificent show...evergreen...fast growing...and again can be fan trained....

..I cannot vouch for safety regarding dogs or children.... my dog shows no interest - only eats grass when a bit sickly...and he's mighty fussy which blade to choose...

  • I too have a brick shed that I wanted to cover in foliage and/or flowers. I have planted a couple of group 2 clematis that flower from May to September/October. I fixed green wire mesh with wooden batons for the clematis to cling to. They grew upwards about 5 feet and spread about 3 feet each since planting in May and they started flowering a couple of weeks ago.

There are many different kinds of clematis that grow to different heights/spread. Some of them are evergreen too.

  • Ty again peeps

Im gonna take a look at your suggestions now and I'll let you know

I have a Campsis Indian Summer that is climbing nicely up and over my lean to

A new Campsis with the most unusual Apricot coloured flowers. A rapid climber which will cover walls, arches, pagodas etc. very quickly. Flowers from June to September.

  • That campsis Indian summer is really nice I'll take a look at the rest suggested also
  • I just spotted a plant called pyracantha.

An evergreen which i can train up a trellis.

I think ill get 2 slim trellis and plant one red berry and one orange berry one at opposite ends of the shed. I can have the flowers then in summer and the berries look great also (plus the birds love em).

Sounds like a plan.... My shed is by my back door so evergreen would be ideal.

Gonna have a load more space down both sides of the garden for other climbers like mentioned above
