Yes, it worked! This is how the garden looked last summer compared to the pic a few postings ago from when we moved in. I am now fannying about with putting a pond in and pics from that are under my thread 'I'm digging a pond by hand'
Thank you. Pond is in progress and the last step (of major fiddling at least) will be to replace the tatty old greehouse with a shed/greenhouse combo in cedar with a low wall.
Oh just found this thread and love it. What wonderful transformations. You must all slog your hearts out, they are brilliant. Look forward to more .....
Here are a couple of close ups of the areas that have got a bit overgrown, obviously it know not to divide/move anything now, but I'm sure you'll see what I mean.....
The lavender and rose I love and they will stay there, but the lavender is quite big now, I'm not sure what is next to the lavender but it grows like mad and I'm thinking of getting rid of it, it smells quite herby and I'm sure someone has told me before what it is but can't find where I wrote it! The day lilies are definitely getting split and poor rhodie is hiding at the back. Any more tips? On what to do/not to do?
This section isn't as bad but the agapanthus are coming up and going in a pot (you can just see them) my Camellia is hidden and the 'bush' will get cut back. I'm thinking of moving the plum tree as it has spread a lot, or can it be cut back to keep it in check and smaller?
Sorry for all the questions but it seems to be doing well and although it needs organising I don't want to kill anything!

^ Steve I much prefer your garden now. You've done a good job with it. It's got much more interest IMO.

It's nice to get positive comments for your hard work isn't it
I used to have quite a nice greenhouse but it was removed for me one winter's day!
Your garden looks great Steve
I was trying to figure out if your arch/ lawn was on an angle on your pond thread. It's different and creative.

Looks lovely to me orchid lady and love the wooden edge
Cant really zoom in on the herb so can't advise there
I too have a plum tree that was from home base about 3 years ago and has grown huge so hope some one can advise on them
The only thing I can advise on but you prob already know is the agapanthus likes to be pot bound so squeeze in when you move to pot
Wow OL, your garden really looks lovely, so different now. You must be so pleased.
Lovely gardens everyone.
What a shame about the poorly greenhouse.
