This will be dry soil but I want to soften the edge. Lysmachia seems to fit the bill, it will be in a place where I can control its wild desire for escapism and I coincidentally have a spare one left over from planting the hanging baskets!
Oh and my back is OK! My shoulders ached for a couple of days but I still have to clear some of the turf as around it I am creating planting pockets, there will be some gravel areas too. I was going to make it into one large flower bed around but I have realised that is impractical so this seems the best solution. Bonus is less lawn too!

dierama is said to look good by water but it's not for wet soil.
How's your back?
