  • Yes, flowerlover, Harkness have been at the forefront of rose growing ever since I've been into roses....'Ena Harkness' is a classic.

I recommended 'Comte de Chambord' here to rosemummy recently.....a lovely pink you may like.

Proof it happens to best of us David! My st swithun is behaving strangely, the new growth is all tiny, leaves pinkish very narrow, flowers much smaller, darker, actually a better colour and a better fragrance (!) but totally different to what we've had before, this rose is under the honeysuckle that I sprayed for whitefly with organic bug clear, I did cut off some new growth that was yellow, this is the. 2nd lot of peculiar new growth, could it be the spray?

Proof that David is 'normal' imageimage I don't actually know how to real with mildew? I didn't realise you could get it on plants image

I've not had any new flowers on 6 of my 7 roses for a few weeks, I am assuming from earlier posts that it's because they are new this year.

Has anyone else got the latest GW mag yet and seen the DA offer........very very very tempted image

  • Crikey, someone's a bit slow on the uptake image that was ages ago.

Dave has done for the mildew and they're looking good again. image

Sorry I was far too busy on my enormous estate to check posts ( sorry couldn't t resist!! ) jolly good David, now sort my st swithun out virtually please!oh no, o. L haven' t opened it yet, bb in habit at the moment of oulling magazine out of my hands and shouting " NO MUMMY!you can' t read about gardening " so haven' t seen it , it'll be dangerous, you know what I'm like! I saw me isaac perriere in a gc while we were away, it smelled divine, a tiny bit deeper pink than I want really but it' s tucked away in my mind ( ok so we all know I'll have forgotten the name by the end if the week! )
