Was putting some flowers on a friends grave recently and struck up a conversation with someone who likewise was attending a grave.
'I wonder why there are always so many molehills in this cemetery', she says.....'moles are mostly found in rich soil where is an abundance of worms' says I.
Yours truly quickly changes the subject, before the penny dropped.
Lunaria definitely isn't a WUM. My past pets are buried in my garden but it is a big garden. I planted a rose on my first OH's gave. It was Silver Wedding, my sister-in-law gave it to us for our SW anniversary in July and he died in November that year.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That's a beautiful way to remember him. I exchanged valentines gifts with an elderly friend for about 12 years. A kind on long running in joke. He died in October. He always said he wanted me to put roses on his grave. I have though of planting a rose rather than cut flowers. There are no other graves with planting on them. I'm not sure if I can plant anything. But it's a lovely idea.
