Hi, Me again, I am not 100% sure I have done the right thing, most of the seed is sitting on top of the area, is this correct or should it be covered, the seed mix is red fescue/rye grass.
thanks buddy, day 3 of the seed being down, I hate waiting, I am sure I am not over watering but unsure if I am watering enough, the drainage in the garden is excellent, I am currently watering twice a day.
That seed is "programmed" to grow, Mr Toast! You're doing the most irritating bit now - waiting for it to germinate. I'm assuming you haven't got flocks of sparrows on the lookout for a free lunch - if so, you'll need some form of bird scarer (old CDs hung up work for a bit, until the birds get used to them).
Good luck!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

KT53, You may be on to something there, now where did I put my shovel.

Did you rake it after sowing the seed? I think you should have so that the seed is semi-covered.
I did rake it in but I can see the majority on the surface now.

I must say I have only seen one bird in the garden in the last few days.
Twice a day seems a bit of overkill. What is your weather doing down south?
Down south? Where are you? At the moment it is overcast but dry.
Rainy Scotland. It has rained most of this month!
