  • As one who has just stumbled across this 'debate' and thus impartial, may I offer polite reminder that there is a strictly enforced 'no bickering' rule on this forum?

    You have been warned.

Dove, can I join your branch of the mafia?image

Back to the real issue on this thread. Flowers or the lack of them don't seem to make much of a difference.

     Set to chitt on 10/2/14.

    Sowed on 12/3/14.

Picked at 10am to-day and consumed by 1.30pm.

    No flowers. Loads of taste.

Less of the bickering please and more co-operation.

    Happy gardening.

  • They're a credit it to you, NE.....I've only had them from pots so far, but the first earlies from the garden shouldn't be too long.

My first ones that were planted in bags in the greenhouse and then taken outside later are looking pretty ready; look forward to rootling around later in the week; nothing beats home grownimage

Right, considering there was a load of nonsense in the middle of this, can I still sow my seed potatoes, and any forgotten potatoes that have been forgotten about in the cupboard, and what is likely to happen? If anything I'm more confused more now than I was before I looked at this thread!

Yep, you won't get a huge crop by planting now SweetPea but you should at least have home-grown new potatoes with your Christmas dinner and very likely some well before then.  image

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

The only possible downside to this is blight, if you live in a blighty area.  But it is definitely worth a go.
