dovefromabove that is twisting the facts

The seed potatoes that we all buy to grow in our gardens are tubers from last years crop

Pototoes grown from seed has to have a full season growing to produce tubers  these will be sold as seed potatoes the following year

That is what I said ...

And that's where your 'seed potatoes' come from - potato seeds are sown in soil which has not grown potatoes before; this is to avoid the potato plants contracting a virus.

They grow into potato plants which grow the potatoes which you buy from the garden centre to plant in your gardens.

If you mean the tops are lying flat on the ground......no don't need to do anything and it's nothing to be concerned about.

Buddyboy, you are being too simplistic.  Seed potatoes are not just small tubers from last year's crop.

Seed potatoes are grown by specialists.  I can't remember the rules.  I did know once, many year's ago.  If you look into the subject, or you may already know, seed potatoes traditionally came from Scotland and Northern Ireland.  They are not just any old saved tuber.

If you are going to be an authority on giving people advice make sure it is correct

The who's right who's wrong debate i care not, but to come on here and be so rude say's a lot about YOU Buddyboy, maybe you should go learn some manners before you start writing on forums my friend, there are ways to disagree, but to come on here and say to a respected and most helpful member of this forum that they are talking a lot of rubbish right off the bat is not one of them.. Sorry Dove i know you can fight your own battles but such rudeness gets my hackles up...image

Can I just clarify something? Dove was not referring to anyone as being a 'nut' on the thread in question  Buddyboy.. She was replying to the post made by nutcutlet. We all call her nut - which she quite enjoys as she is nuts and that's why we love her. Although it's also because she is extremely knowledgeable and helpful  image

Oh - and Dove is also female.

And I think you might find yourself being reported for the personal attack above on other posters.

    Have a good day.
