Have Wagon Wheels got smaller? Or is it just that I had smaller hands once?

  • kate1123kate1123 Posts: 2,815

Definitely smaller, but all packets feel smaller this yearimage

Wagon wheels are the same size- it is your hands that got bigger

I just wondered. I'm not that bothered as I don't like them much!

Nothing stays the same-my clothes seem to shrink all the time

  • I used to love waggon wheels. I had one for my lunch every day while I was at school. The modern thing is tiny and completely devoid of lusciousness.

I also used to collect cards from Typhoo and PG tips tea. My mum used to buy Typhoo just for the cards. Much of my education comes from reading tea packets.

Morning all, Just caught up with all the news as I was with daughter most of  yesterday. Her cat had injured himself somehow and came home with a hole in his leg so frantic phonecall to vet . Youngest grandson beside himself as he is autistic and has formed a very close bond with him so went into meltdown. Took Horace to the vet and they gave him pain killer injection - £50 for starters and then told her he would need an operation on leg which would cost £450. Daughter then got upset as she couldn't afford that much. I know vets are expensive but B.H. - £450 ??? Anyway to cut a long story short, the RSPCA stepped in but he had to go to Manchester for op - £89. One very happy Grandson and one not so happy Horace !

    What a day.

Gary that was a complete blast from the past, I used to love reading those cards.

Jean sounds like you had a difficult day, are Horace and grandson OK now?

    Morning fork folk.

Jean, that's awful for you and especially for your grandson. It's scary how much vet bills are but it always makes me appreciate having the NHS for people.

Gary. like you I got much of my education from tea cards. I found an old book of Queen Eliz I to Queen Eliz II the other day.

Geoff, you should try a cooler wash if your clothes are shrinking. Tch! men and washing machines.

  • Good morning everyone,

Love wagon wheels and chocolate tea cakes.

Sorry to hear about Horace, Jean. Vets bills are really scarey. I mentiontioned last week that my dog has an auto-imune condition and the drug to control it, not cure costs £500 a month. Beyond my reach.  The vet put him on steroids and anti-biotics and he is so much better. He said he could give me an internet prescription for the expensive drug but how can you trust that? Fake drugs for human use have already been found in pharmacies.

    Two sleeps before Downton.
