    Feeling better now Geoff?

I am attempting to construct a cardie from my kntting - so far have had to undo it once - sewed wrong sides togetherimage Probably have to undo more before I've finishedimage

Can't think of any Irish except for great great grandfather of OH, he was something to do with horses - well what elseimage

  • I think I have found two more generations back - and I''m now in Devon - quite a surprise as the surname is Welsh! Either that or I'm following up the wrong family!! Wouldn't surprise me. Also I wish people could have had a little more imagination - it seems all first born sons were given the same name as their fathers, or the names reversed.

Must stop now, its son no. 2's birthday tomorrow so I've got to source a cake.

Well done - I found a long stream of John's - still have a mystrey of one that I need to follow through as my grandfather is also the 'grandfather' of a completely different family - I know I'm rightimage

  • Lottie! are you using one of these site thingybob's? Ancestry etc

  • Matty2Matty2 Posts: 4,817

I use Ancestry 'thingybob' and Genes Reunited. Got reunited with someone I didn't want to be reunited with so don't use it much any moreimage

  • B'j! is it free to use?

  • Matty2Matty2 Posts: 4,817

No there are some free sites - genes reunited only costs about £10 a year, but to get anywhere you need to pay. It is free if you go to local library where you will get an Ancestry link. Use of census you have to pay

Want advice Dean I'll give it imageimage

Gary, the MOB rants has been quite funny, and it's getting very popular. I didn't even know what OH meant when I first read Fork Handles.Had to Google it.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
