Jean, I have had my fingers burned, our neighbour asked us if we would like to contribute to the £300 he spent on plants for a communal area near our house, there were no receipts and I estimated that they must have cost £50 so we declined.  He now wants to spend £2000 on some security lighting that his mates will install image imageimage Oddly he attached his trellis to our fence in the days before I knew the rules. Your neighbour sounds very nice.

I will keep my fingers crossed for your plants.

LOL Geoff, stop asking about the bloomin holiday. It's not in a resort. It's a private villa somewhere I don't know, and don't care. I will tell you where it was when I get back!! image

And yes, the site speed is driving me mad. Sometimes it sits on 'connecting' for ages, other times it just goes round and round for ages. I use Firefox.

Evening all, told you it would be nice when I was in work. Busy day, had to treat myself to a large scone (Costco specials, excellent) when I got home.

I bet you will have a great time Becks, Jess certainly will. Just go and relax.

Managed 5 mins in the garden cutting some crocosmia lucifer for my big vase and some astilbe to put in a vase on my desk tomorrow.

Yawning now, not sure if I will be able to stay awake for part 2 of Silent Witness.

    Hi all.

I too want to watch Silent Witness. OH went up to bed before it finished last night, so I did actually miss the last 5mins or so, but was finding it rather 'difficult' to watch, so not sure will stay the remainder.

Have had a good w/end with OH. Only problem is he's being soooo protective of me it's frustrating! Ok shouldnt grumble, but not his usual style. There again when the energy suddenly 'went' when in town on Sat he didnt understand that I needed to sit down, NOW, not when he thought somewhere was nicer!! We did actually find a new, to us, coffee/tea shop for a smashing snack lunch & nice coffee & a good chat with some other customers. This is typical of the area, everyone is friendly to total strangers.

Because of local roadworks the traffic was inbelievable at the top of the road. So getting in the car to drive to a nice walking area not on, plus too hot really. So that evening we walked to a nearby park & watched cricket! OH has a new camera so was snapping all sorts & I was being given a lesson in understanding the game by an obliging spectator- see this habit of talking to people is catching!

Yesterday we went early to the Well Dressing at a nearby village. Absolutely facinating & the church flowers were wonderful too. Only problem was a model dolls house, in one of the displays in church, that was identical to one that I'd had as a child. Dad had got it for me & on seeing this one in the church I got rather upset & ended up back outside. Grief a b****r, gets you when you least expect it.image Met up with a colleague from OH's work, whom I knew, so that was nice & was able to regain my composure over yummy cake!

Later on we drove, traffic jam less on Sunday, to the nearby canal for a good walk along the towpath & yet another icecream! I found the rapsberry canes- very good, everyone was going for the blackberries, but not me!

Right, TV now. Busy day tomorrow, again! J.

Becks-I used to love Victor Meldrerw- a lot of it was filmed locally and the last episode about 5 miles away when he gets knocked over by a car-don't tell Jess that bitimage

Nice catching up on all the news. Hope everyone's endeavours are successful ! Had a massage this afternoon, feeling a little spaced out - in a good way :- )  Hope part 2 of Ruth Rendell is worth staying awake for.

Yes, I often have trouble with slow running of this site. Usually I close browser - IE - and open it again.

Dan, have you been at the Jack Daniels???  image

Really geoff!! Wow. I don't watch TV really, mainly films when I get time, but it has to be one of my all times favourites. I have every series on DVD. Love it image
