Have just looked at the paper-I see that ManU are near the bottom- just out the relegation zone -does this mean a change of manager, a crisis and is their season over?

Jean it is if we are there with you

  • Jean, hope the rest of the delivery is ok.

Now to show my ignorance. I have a huge cosmos growing next to the front door and I don't remember putting any seed down there this year. There was also one in the same spot last year which I cut down in autumn when it died off. Could it have survived the winter and grown again? Or is that not possible?

Geoff, do not mention the c word again or you will have to stand in the corner. I am also a winter grump though.

I shall henceforth rename my front grass 'The Meadow'.

Gary, independent minded, that's me. And I can't be a**ed with mowing. I didn't mention that the screening hedge is actually two thirds dead so I think there may be one or two people along my road who consider me the neighbour from hell ;- ) I love your Coventry meadow though I feel a bit sorry for hay-fever sufferers.

Lottie - Your Cosmos might have self seeded in to the same spot, it probably isn't the same plant.

Naughty Geoff mentioning Christmas when I haven't given up hope of having a summer yet. image

The deed is done. My Amelanchier had to have an appendage sawn off and I've lost a clump of cosmos but that's about all. Oh and a silver queen Euonymus that I thought had vanished had grown through the fence and was in the garden at the back ! Had to chop that down but the roots were on our side of the fence so it was our plant - don't think they'll be bothered or I'll be sued ! Felt really sorry for the guys fitting them . We've just had a massive rainstorm here and they were soaked to the skin.

Think I 've been quite lucky really - Now the sun's out . Sods' law

    Phew !!!!

Geoff I know nothing about football but thought Man U top team.

They are struggling Jean-haven't won a game or scored a goal in the league for nearly 3 months.

All the fencing done? -that was quick

You can gambol through your meadow Flo-singing la-la-la songs

    Lottie-agree probably a self-sown seed

I was hoping the footy would not be mentioned, image they played poorly and SAF probably made them walk home.

Jean at least it is done and your garden will be safe from marauding dogs.

Never mind it is still early- the Championship is a much happier place-all  those glamour trips to places like Ipswich and Peterborough to look forward to.

Has anybody heard the top joke at the Edinburgh festival?
