We are image I'll see what comes up, most of my veg is from Premier Direct so hopefully it will be ok and the rest can be re-sown if necessary (lettuce, courgettes).

I don't really want to buy plants, not that I have anything against them but I just want to  try and do it all myself from scratch image

Well done T&M, you have done it again......but I don't blame you at all. We gardeners are very trusting simple folk ,so you treat us like fools. What is the point of your e-mail address when you do not respond, or, we get a stand reply which means nothing. Even when we ring we get sarcastic responses like, ...."oh really.....". But fear not, once bitten twice shy, we will soon vote with our feet and go elsewhere. This forum will help us do so. Smaller suppliers like SUTTONS and FOTHERGILLS, and even AMAZON can fulfill their commitment, and their seeds actually do germinate. Try emulating them, or, are you making a lot of dosh out of  your BAD "customer care" as you call it on your e-mail address?

What AMAZES  me is that GW still 'recommends' your site by offering 'free plants'  from your sites. You are onto a winner, aren't you? Surely you must be making money from our 'P&P' AND getting rid of your surplus plants. It's win, win all the way, isn't it? imageimage

Exactly jatnikapyer, I had a standard email response saying someone would be in touch......no-one has......I phoned up yesterday and even queried the cost of postage when so slow, in all honesty the girl couldn't give a stuff (and that's being polite).  No point at all T&M coming on here and being all nicey nicey, saying phone us get in touch etc etc......you just don't care!!!!  Alternative suppliers for me in future!!!

If my Tumbling Toms don't germinate, I WILL BE FURIOUS - so be warned!!!! I'm not always nice Orchid Lady image

We've still not had a comment on whether Natalie thinks that the third rozanne plug sent to me  was  of merchantable quality. Although with a lot of TLC it has grown another leaf. Not dead yet. (Not likely to flower this year either)

I have previously ordered postiplugs from T&M and they were delivered quickly and in great condition. All are now healthy additions to our garden. However this year each of the deliveries arrived after too long in the postal system and so has been either entirely dead or around 60% dead. All have been replaced but still not 100% alive. Again the date of dispatch to delivery was the issue. The final part of our order arrived a couple if weeks ago and we all had a laugh at the appauling rotted state the inca gold sunflowers arrived in. Again too long in the postal system. This time I could not get through on the phone. 30 minutes on hold. So I sent an email with photo. I got an automated reply saying they had an unusually high level of emails but it would be dealt with soon. Over a week later to say my email was still in the system. We spent over a hundred pounds and it's not be an experience I will repeat with T&M. Worse still I recommened them to my boss with his new alotement. He hasn't received any part of his order and cannot get through to customer service and no reply to emails. Bad news travels 10 times as fast as good news.

I must admit, my free perennials I received seem to be doing well and arrived (eventually) in good condition.

Not all the tomatoes germinated, it's a good job I sowed the whole packet, even if I have now got too many.....I'll just have to get OH. To out more hanging basket brackets up image

Still undecided as to whether I would use them again, I despise bad customer service with a passion!!!
  • I thought I would join in with comments about T&M who were renound for quality new varieties etc.

What has happened??, had all my seeds from them 3 yrs ago unhappy then and decided not to use again. The wife however saw an article about new and better tomato variety and purchased the offer, arrived later (about 6weeks) dry  thin drawn plants, been planted 2 weeks now and still not recovered 1 dead.

Complained twice had no responce yet will do because I will keep on complaining and telling all concerned what rubbish is being sent out.

I ordered 3 packets of  seeds and some plug plants in April.

T&M stated that the seeds would be delivered within 3 days and the plugs by the end of the month.     The seeds took 2 weeks to arrive (in the same time another supplier had delivered within 72 hrs of order), The plugs didn't turn up so in May I emailed them & heard nothing.

I emailed them again and then held on the phone for over 20 minutes.   They said they'd look into it and phone me back. 48hrs later a nice young man rang to assure me that he'd seen my plants and that they would be dispatched shortly.

Early June they sent a letter to say ...sorry no plants available (these were plnats that were menat to be dispatched in April) But don't worry we'll refund!    I've just had the refund, not only is it £5 light (they refunded £9.99 not the £14.99 they charged my card) but they have not refunded the extra postage for the plants which they failed to send.  So now i've paid £6.90 for the postage on 3 packets of seeds.    What a cheek
